In Swiss eCommerce, the strongest players in relative terms are also growing the fastest on average.
With an average growth rate of 25.1 percent, the online shops in places 1 to 50 are once again clearly outperforming the competition. This is in line with the increased market concentration over the past few years and is therefore not surprising.
Looking at the other sales categories, it is noticeable that the effects of the increased market concentration continue to tend here: The lower the ranking – i.e. the lower the turnover – the lower the average growth trend. A negative outlier from this observation are the shops in ranks 51 to 100, which on average only achieve growth of 9.0 percent. The shops in places 201 to 250 are even stagnating with an average sales development of 0.8 percent.
