Now in its 12th year, the joint study published by Statista and the EHI Retail Institute “E-Commerce Markt Deutschland 2020” (E-Commerce Market in Germany 2020) examines the German B2C eCommerce market from the supply perspective with a detailed analysis of the 1,000 biggest online stores based on revenue. As seen in previous years, the market is characterized by robust growth. In 2019, the top 1,000 online shops in Germany generated a combined revenue of €52 billion — this corresponds to a growth rate of 12.4% in comparison to the previous year. Still #1 in the market is Germany’s amazon.de site1 with approximately €10.5 billion in revenue in 2019. otto.de (€3.4 billion) and zalando.de (€1.6 billion) trail far behind.
