Future development

Although Electronics & Media products paved the way for almost all products that are sold online today, the market still has a significant growth potential.
While physical media products like books, audio disks etc. have already reached saturation and are forecast to decline over the next years, consumer electronics show relevant growth potential as sales shift more and more from offline stores to online platforms.
Large product categories like smartphones and tablets are already saturating in developed markets. Upcoming new products like wearable devices and augmented or virtual reality headsets, wireless loudspeakers etc. have not reached comparable sales volumes yet.
Physical media products such as books, CDs, BluRays etc. face strong competition by their digital substitutes and way more convenient ways of access like internet-based streaming or on-demand services.
