Clothing and Books, Movies, Music & Games Are the Main Categories for Online Shopping in Japan

According to Statista Consumer Insights, online shoppers in Japan are purchasing a wide variety of products. The most popular category for online shopping is Clothing, with a significant 47% of online shoppers making purchases in this category. Additionally, 34% of online shoppers purchase Books, Movies, Music & Games, while 29% purchase Food & Drinks. Shoes category ranks fourth with 27%, followed by Bags & Accessories at 25%. The category with the lowest online purchases is Stationery & Hobby Supplies, with only 18% of online shoppers having made a purchase in the past 12 months. Consumer Electronics and Cosmetics & Body Care are also among the categories with the least online purchases, with only 23% of online shoppers making a purchase from each category.
