Gender Distribution of Online Shopping Categories in Sweden

Data from the Statista Consumer Insights survey reveals that in Sweden, a higher percentage of female online shoppers have made purchases within the last 12 months compared to their male counterparts, with a few exceptions.
Conversely, male online shoppers tend to purchase more Consumer Electronics, Sports & Outdoor Products, and Household Appliances than female shoppers. Specifically, 74.9% of female and 25.1% of male online shoppers have purchased Cosmetics & Body Care in the past 12 months. The gender gap is similar in Bags & Accessories, with 66.2% of female and 33.8% of male online shoppers making a purchase in this category within the last year. However, male online shoppers outpace females in purchasing Consumer Electronics at 65% compared to 35%, Sports & Outdoor Products at 58.7% compared to 41.3%, and Household Appliances at 55.3% compared to 44.7%.
