According to Statista Consumer Insights, users in India have most often bought Clothing (70%) and Shoes (55%) online in the past year. But online shoppers in India also purchase technology, self-care items, and everyday essentials.
Consumer Electronics (45%), Bags & Accessories (44%), and Cosmetics & Body Care (40%) round out the top 5 categories that users in India have bought online in the past year.
About a third of respondents have purchased goods for everyday usage, including Food & Drinks (36%), Household Appliances (34%), and Drugstore & Health Products (31%).
Of less interest, but still in the top 10 product categories, are entertainment media at 26% and Stationery & Hobby Supplies at 24%.
