The Main Categories for Online Shopping in the Netherlands – Fashion on Top

A recent Statista Consumer Insights survey shows that consumers in the Netherlands are increasingly turning to online shopping for various products, such as fashion, electronics, and media.
Clothing tops the list as the most popular product category, with 59% of respondents reporting a purchase in the past year, followed by Shoes at 47%, and Books, Movies, Music & Games at 31%. Consumer Electronics and Household Appliances tie in fourth place, with 30% of respondents reporting a purchase for each, while Drugstore & Health Products completes the top five with 28%.
Among the bottom categories on this list are Food & Drinks together with Cosmetics & Body Care, mentioned by a quarter of respondents (25%). Bags & Accessories is next to last at 20%, followed by Pet Products at 18%.
