Gender Distribution of Online Shopping Categories in Norway

Statista Consumer Insights data shows that most female shoppers in Norway made fashion and cosmetics related online purchases in the past 12 months, whereas most male shoppers purchased electronics, hobby and entertainment related items.
64% of male shoppers purchased something in Consumer Electronics within the last 12 months compared to only 36% of female shoppers in the same category. By contrast, 75% of female, and only 25% of male shoppers bought something in the Cosmetics & Body Care category within the last 12 months. Food & Drinks is the only product category in this context, where we see an equal share of male and female shoppers having made a purchase in this category within the last year.
