Gender Distribution of Online Shopping Categories in the UK

The top 10 product categories that users in the UK have bought online in the last 12 months are displayed in regard to gender, which means which share of female and male consumers have purchased each group of items. In the following, data from Statista Consumer Insights is indicated.
Cosmetics & Body Care is the item category that shows the clearest gender divide, here 71% of consumers are female, compared to 29% of men. Bags & Accessory is preferred by female shoppers as well, which means that 63% of users who have bought these products are women. Also, Drugstore & Health Products is preferred by 60% of women consumers.
Conversely, Consumer Electronics is purchased by 58% of users who are male, comprising the only item group in this sample that is bought predominantly by men. Every other category on the list is divided more equally, although women tend to buy a greater variety of products online.
