Top 10 Online Stores in the UK
February 04, 2020
According to the Statista Digital Market Outlook, the UK has the highest eCommerce market volume in Europe. It is therefore hardly surprising that all online stores in the top 10 ranking generated revenues in the billions in 2018.
As one might expect, Amazon, in the form of amazon.co.uk, came in first place, with a revenue of US$8.3bn in the UK in 2018, followed by tesco.com (US$4.8bn) and argos.co.uk (US$3.2bn).
Unlike the online stores on the podium, the rest of the top 10 are only a few million US$ apart. Therefore, it is more than likely that a lot of movement will occur within the ranking over the next few years. This movement will probably not remain untouched by future political decisions, even if the majority of leading online stores have a strong focus on the national market.
