Gender Distribution of Online Shopping Categories in the United Arab Emirates
Data from Statista Consumer Insights shows that female shoppers in the United Arab Emirates made fewer online purchases in the past 12 months than male shoppers overall. 73% of male shoppers purchased items in the Consumer Electronics category within the last 12 months compared to only 27% of female shoppers in the same category. By contrast, 47% of female shoppers have made a purchase in the Cosmetics & Body Care category within the last 12 months. In addition to this, female shoppers in the United Arab Emirates made the least online purchases in Consumer Electronics and Shoes, where only 27% of female shoppers made an electronics-related online purchase in the last 12 months, and only 30% of female shoppers stated that they purchased Shoes online in the last 12 months compared to 70% of male shoppers.
