Affiliate Recycling Program to Receive Benefits: Customers can send in five and more items of clothing to receive discounts and store credits. Guess is now one of the brands for which SuperCircle manages the complex recycling process.
Reverse Logistics Market Is Growing: The apparel recycling process is complex and requires industry expertise, which SuperCircle has. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement for the online company and its partner brands.
Guess joins the list of brands working with SuperCircle, an online recycling enterprise that offers reuse and recycling of apparel and textiles. Customers bring at least five items of clothing (from any brand) to a partner store or receive a shipping label to send in the clothing via a free mail-in service. In return, SuperCircle's partner brands offer store credit or a discount on the next purchase.
Brands that have partnered with SuperCircle include J. Crew, Uniqlo, ALC and Reformation.
The Reverse Logistics Market Generated US$700 Billion in 2023
SuperCircle is an example of a brand that has integrated reverse logistics into its business concept. Reverse logistics is a term that describes processes in shipping that go the other way, from the customer to the company. It means handling returns, reselling and recycling products.
Statista estimates the reverse logistics market generates around US$740 billion in 2024. For reference, Belgium’s GDP is US$803 billion.
While there is certainly a need for reverse logistics solutions, sometimes it is more convenient to simply dispose of unwanted products. SuperCircle offers a solution to the complex recycling process that requires industry knowledge and resources.
SuperCircle Offers Modern Solutions
Because garments are sometimes intermingled during production, the textiles must be broken down in the recycling process. SuperCircle uses the industry's latest technologies, such as fiber-to-fiber (F2F) and component-to-component (C2C) recycling. There is also the option to recycle products in an open loop, either downcycling or upcycling.
SuperCircle aggregates product returns across brands. By doing this collectively and on a regular basis, it has the expertise and cost efficiency that many retailers in the apparel industry lack.
